On a night that we had the best weather that we have had all season, the Girls put together their best overall meet on the season! Times were fast, distances and heights were further, and the energy was positive!
Congratulations to both Grace Kehr and Kennedy Martinson as they have advanced onto the State Meet next Thursday and Saturday at St. Michael/Albertville High School. Grace finished in 3rd place in Pole Vault, but earned her way to State by Vaulting over the State Qualifying Standard of 11 ft, 1 inch. Kennedy won the 100 Hurdles, the 300 Hurdles and the Pole Vault to score the most points of any athlete, female or male, at the meet, and set a new school record in the 100 Hurdles in Prelims on Wednesday and set a new school record in Pole Vault tonight, becoming the first Cardinal female to go over 12 feet!
Other top finishers were Mikayla de Souza who finished 3rd in both the 100 and 200 in all time best times, just missing Qualifying in both. She also anchored the 4x100 team with Molly Knoblauch, Rory Ruotsinoja and Bailey Rauh, to a 4th place finish, dropping nearly 2 seconds in time. Rory also moved up 4 places and added over a foot in Triple Jump to earn 8th place and Molly ran an all time best in the 100 to finish in 9th. The 4x800 relay team of Ava Kehr, Megan Fuller, Ruby Demmer and Tessa Del Fratte also finished in 6th place to earn a medal.
