Meet Cancelled

At 2:20, we were called and the meet at Anoka today has been cancelled due to the weather. No make up date as of right now. We are practicing today though.

Today's Meet

As of this morning, Thursday, the JV True Team Meet at Anoka High School is still on as planned.  There will be a normal schedule of events with the first event starting at 3:45.  If there is any change, due to the weather, I will let you know as soon as possible.

True Team

The Girls had one of their best overall performances of the year last night as they finished 3^rd out of 9 in the Section 4AAA True Team meet.  The girls finished with many season bests and were led by the relays, with the Cardinals winning 3 of the 4 relay events.  The meet started with the 4x800m team of Bryna DelCastillo, Rozlynn Lund, Rachel Davis, and Susan Porter coasting to the winning.  The 4x200m team of Brianna Clarke, Brianka Agboola, Rozlynn Lund, and Allie Stalboerger and the 4x400m team of Brianna Clarke, Michelle Onyekaba, Rozlynn Lund and Kalley Harris both surprised many to get the victories.  Other top finishers were Kalley Harris winning the 300m Hurdles; Bryna DelCastillo taking 2^nd in the 3200m run; Rachel Anderson taking 2^nd in the Discus; Amber Harris 3^rd in the 300m Hurdles and Sam Lefaive finishing in 3^rd in the Pole Vault.

As soon as I can figure out how to add documents to this page, I will put up the meet results.  In a day or two their will be a web page that they will show up on, but until then, I will do what I can.

True Team Sections

Tuesday is the True Team Section Meet at Elk River.  Pole Vault will start at 12:00, while the rest of the events will start at 3:45.  The Pole Vaulters will be the only ones that will be at the meet at noon, the rest will arrive later.
There will be a normal schedule of events, but the scoring for this meet will be different.  In your normal scored meets, only the top so many will receive points. In a true team meet, everyone will get a point, no matter where they finish, unless an athlete is disqualified or does not complete/receive a mark for their event.  First place will get the most points, last place the fewest.  Being that there will be 9 teams in our Section, and 3 athletes per individual events, 1st place will receive 27 points, and 27th place would get 1 point.  If there are only 25 individuals in an event, 1st place would still get 27 points, and the last place finisher would get 3 points.
For the four Relay events, the point total is a bit different.  First place would get 36 points (9 teams, 4 individuals on each team), and second place would get 32, on down to 9th place getting 4 points.  So, it becomes a fun challenge on deciding where you put athletes as well as what other teams will do with their athletes. 
The winner of this meet will qualify for the True Team State Meet.  No individuals will qualify from this, and this is not what determines who goes to the State meet at the end of the season.  This is a different State Meet.

Mega Meet Results

The girls had a solid day considering the athletes that were unable to perform.  But, they finished in 8th place out of 19 teams.

Top spots went to Rozlynn Lund, 1st in the 400; Rachel Anderson, 2nd in the Shot Put; Bryna DelCastillo, 3rd in the 3200; Kalley Harris, 3rd in the 300 Hurdles; Elise Weimholt, 5th in the 3200;  the 4x800m team of Bryna DelCastillo, Lindsey Johnson, Michelle Onyekaba, and Elise Weimholt, 4th place.

Next up is the Section 4AA True Team Meet at Elk River on Tuesday.  More information will be out on Monday.

Blaine Results/Mega Meet Schedule

Below is a link to the results for the Blaine Invite.  There were some positives out of the meet and some things that we can work with, but we are still working and still finding out somethings about our team.  But, we finished in 3rd out of 4 teams despite the fact that we were also a few athletes short.

Here is the schedule for the Mega Meet on Saturday, as well as directions to the track.  This will not be at the Sauk Rapids High School.  It is at the Sauk-Rapids Rice Middle School.  There will also be an admission to get in, $6 for adults, $4 for students. 
If the girls have not found out, they will find out today if they are going and the events they would be in.  This is going to be an all day event, so please make sure that the athletes have enough snacks/lunch to help them get through the day.  There will be concessions, plus there will be T-Shirts for sale.  $15 for a normal T, and $20 for a performance T.
