Irondale Twilight

I have also put our team/individual results under our Results.
It is always hard to say how we did as an overall team with this meet because the results are added together with the Boys team, but considering the number of girls that we brought that had not really done any Varsity meets prior to Friday, the girls performed well and there were a lot of positive signs that we look forward to seeing if they can progress.

Next up is a Triangular at Elk River on Tuesday.  This will be a meet in which everyone can compete and there are no limits to the number of individuals or relay teams we have in each event.

Blaine 9/10

Our team results for last nights Blaine 9/10 are now posted.  Once again, there were no overall meet results, so not sure where everyone would have finished in each event, or how we finished as a team.  We are OK with this though, because we are able to get some work in with the younger girls and not have to worry about them stressing as much.
But, based on what I saw, and the times, heights, and distances that we produced, I felt it was a positive day, and a good step forward for many on the team.  The wind was a bit strong for the last 100m, so times were effected a little bit, but those that were able to run personal bests with that wind, showed themselves that they are really improving!
Next up is the Irondale Twilight (check the post for Irondale for the schedule and time).  This will be a Varsity only meet.  Next meet for the whole team is on Tuesday at Elk River.

Irondale Twilight

Below is the schedule for Friday's Irondale Twilight.  The schedule is a bit different then the normal schedule, with some relay's added to the mix.  Another thing different about this meet is that the boys and girls times, heights, distances, in each event are added together and the overall winner of each event is dependent on both the girls and the boys, as well as the overall winner of the meet.  So, it may look like the girls were first in an event, but if the boys don't do as well, they may not win the event overall.  Also, this meet is starting later with the intent that many of the events will be run when it is darker and under the lights, thus the meet being considered a Twilight. 
The girls will find out today if they are in this meet or not.  There were a lot of different events, so it took a while to figure it all out.  Plus, not everyone is in this meet.  We are limited to two individuals in each event and one relay team per relay event, so we were not able to get everyone in.  

Irondale: 2425 Long Lake Road, New Brighton, MN 55112. Go East on Hwy 10 and continue on Hwy 47 towards Northtown and exit at Country Road 10.  Go East (left) on CR 10 and continue to Long Lake Road.  Take a right onto Long Lake Road and go about a mile, the school will be on your left.

Tuesday Results

The start of the outdoor meets began with a positive, lots of improvements, a few surprises, and always room for improvement as the girls were able to finish 2nd in the 3 team meet at Centennial.  Blaine was the meet winner with 69.5 points, CR was 2nd with 60 and Centennial was 3rd with 53.5 points. Team results are posted to the right.

Centennial Tri

Below is the normal outdoor schedule of events and will be the schedule that we use on Tuesday at Centennial.  The meet will be starting at 3:45:

4707 North Road, Circle Pines, 55014.  Go East on Hwy 10, then merge onto Interstate 35W North.  Go north on 35W to the Lexington Ave exit and take a right.  Take a left on North Road (101^st Ave NE).  School will be on left about a mile after Lexington.

Lastly, this is just a reminder, but athletes are to stay until after the last event has finished and the team has done a lap together. If you are needing to bring your athlete home, please remember that a note needs to be brought to me, or an email, prior to the meet.

Blog Changes/Results

Good Afternoon,
So I have been continuing to work on the blog and have made a few changes.  At the top of the blog, there are four links to general results, not only for our athletes, but also for all of those in the State.  If we come across a meet that uses a different site, I will add that as well.
Also, on the right side of the blog page, there are a couple of new things.  At the top is a link to our all-time records, and below that will be where I post our results.  Sometimes it will be just our team results, sometimes it may be the meet results, depending on what I have access to.  I am still working on all of this, so if things change, I will let you know.
As for the results that I posted so far.  What is currently on the list is our times from Friday's U of M Indoor.  I have not received all of our field event results, so I have not posted those yet.  I am hoping to post those by tomorrow, Monday.  Once again, there were not any over all meet results, thus no team scores.

Friday Results

Good Morning,
There were not any overall meet results for last nights meet.  I am going to work on finding a way to get our results posted on here soon.
But it was a positive start to the season with some nice surprises from the new girls, and some solid performances from those returning.  We are hoping to build off do the performances that we have started with and hope to translate it to the outdoors!
Despite the snow, we are still scheduled for next meet, which is Tuesday at Centennial.  I will be posting the information for that meet on Monday, and let everyone know of any changes that may occur.
