Well, it felt more like the first meet than the last meet for our JV Girls weather wise, but they performed like it was the end of the season. Hard to believe that we are already at this point, but the girls that competed yesterday, competed, with many personal bests in all of the events, plus a little bit of drive and will to get better. It is a big positive as we start to look to next year. The question always becomes, though, can that positive energy and desire carry into the summer, fall, and winter months so that when we start the season next March, we will be ready? There will be some information about summer and winter training coming soon. As soon as I get all of the details, I will let you know.
But, as I mentioned to the girls, even if a lot of them are done
competing after the meet yesterday, that does not mean they should not
be coming to practice still. We are always looking for those who want
to keep getting better, and with close to 3 weeks of training still
left, it can be a good experience to see what the Varsity girls will be
going through as well as an opportunity to continue to improve in their
events. Plus, we will need at least 8 girls to help at the Conference Meet next week at Coon Rapids, and 4 the following week at the Section Meet at Hamline University. We want these spots of need to be filled by girls that are showing up to practice and want to help out. More info will come out as we get closer to those day.
Also, just as a clarification, we will NOT be going to the True Team State Meet tonight. The only way we would have competed tonight is if we would have won the True Team Section Meet last Tuesday. So, just normal practice today, and that will be it for the day.
Any questions on anything, please let me know,
Thanks
Denny
