Section Line Up

Here is the line up for the Section Meet.  Please note that the 1600m, all relays, Pole Vault, Shot Put and Triple Jump are all on Friday.  Also, please remember that Wednesdays Prelims are at 10:30, bus leaving at 8:45 and the Finals on Friday at 5:00 with the bus leaving at 2:30.  Also, please note that there will be a fee to get into the meet, $10 for adults, $5 for students.

End of Season Gathering - June 13, 3:00 pm

Before we head out for the summer months, we are going to get together one last time to have some fun and recognize all of the work you have done.  We will be meeting at 3:00 pm on June 13th at the track to play games and hand out awards for the season.  This is a very laid back gathering.  Your parents are able to come, but there will not be a formal presentation of the awards.  We are also asking for $5 for the food.

Week of May 30th/Sections

We are down to the 2nd to last week of the season with this being Section Week.  On Monday evening, the Sprinters and Distance runners will be meeting for practice at 6:00pm to allow those out of town time to make it back as well as those getting together with family.  Tuesday and Thursday will be regular practice times.

Below is a link to the Order of Events for the Section 7AAA Meet on Wednesday and Friday at Forest Lake.  Please note the start times are different for each day.  Wednesday we are scheduled to start at 10:30am for Field and Track events, with the bus leaving at 8:45.  On Friday, both Field and Track events start at 5:00pm, with the bus leaving at 2:30 in case traffic is heavy.  Also note that the last event will not be until after 9:00pm, so we will not be getting back to school until closer to 10:00.  If you are needing to bring your athlete home after they are done with their events, please let me know. I will post the final line up on Monday evening after a few decisions are finalized, but below is also a list of those that will be competing.

Conference Finals

Congratulations to Kennedy M, Grace K, and Mikayla D as they each earned All Conference honors today, with Kennedy earning 3 with wins in the 100 Hurdles and the 300 IM Hurdles and a 3rd place finish in Pole Vault; Grace earning 1 with a 2nd place finish in Pole Vault; and Mikayla taking 4th in the 100m Dash.  Mikayla also earned an All-Conference Honorable Mention with a 5th place finish in the 200m Dash.  These girls helped the team to a 9th place finish out of the 14 team Conference, a 1/2 point out of 8th place.  

As an overall, all of the Girls performed well, with many season bests in events and by individuals.  We know we could have done better in a few areas, but it was still a very positive week and one that we can build on for next week as well as for next year.  All of our individual results, as well as a link to the overall results, are now posted on the blog.

Next up is the Section 7AAA Meet at Forest Lake on June 1st and 3rd.  Please note that the times for these two days are at different times. Wednesday the 1st the first events will be at 10:30am, and for Friday the 3rd the first events will be at 5:00pm.  We were just notified of these times this week, but I will get all of the information out at the beginning of next week.

As for next Monday, athletes will need to talk with their event coaches as to when they will be practicing.

Conference Prelim Results - Thursday Schedule

You can find results to Tuesdays Conference Prelims here: Prelim Results.  Just scroll through the events on the top.  You are also able to see the heat sheets for Thursdays Finals.

As for Thursdays Finals, the schedule for the meet is posted below.  The 3 field events that were not contested for the Girls on Tuesday will be held as well as the 4 relays and the 1600.  The 3200 has been completed.  Moving onto the finals from Tuesdays Prelims are Mikayla de Souza in the 100 and the 200, and Kennedy Martinson in the 100 Hurdles and 300 IM Hurdles.  It was a good weather day, times were not affected and the Girls were able to just go out and compete.  Thursdays weather is looking very similar and it should be a good day to see what the Girls can do.

Parents, please remember if you are taking your athlete home that you need to let me know.  There were many Girls that left early on Tuesday and I was not aware and it makes it more challenging and time consuming when trying to leave and making sure we are not leaving anyone behind.  Event coaches are not on the bus, so you need to be letting me know.

On Wednesday, May 25, we will have our team voting and survey after school and then Uniform turn in for the JV girls that have completed their seasons at 3:00.  Please make sure that you have a chromebook or phone with to do the voting and survey.  Also, please make sure that your Uniforms are clean.

NWSC Prelims - Tuesday

Below is the schedule for Tuesday's Northwest Suburban Conference Prelims at Robbinsdale Armstrong High School.  With the exception of the 3200m and the 3 Field Events being held, all of these events are prelims, with the top runners moving into the Finals on Thursday.
