Conference Results

Our Individual Results are now posted on the right side of the blog.  You can find the Overall Results by click on Raceberry Jam above.  Once they send us the Overall Results I will put a direct link to them.

Congrats to Grace Henneman, 100 High Hurdles, and Abby Russ, 300 Intermediate Hurdles, as they earned All Conference today at the Northwest Suburban Conference Meet.

Honorable Mentions went to Courtney Killian in the Triple Jump; Courtney, Olivia Ellenbecker, Anna Nummela and Ajwato Ongwach in the 4x400; and Fayza Akeri, Abby Russ, Anna, and Beni Kalala in the 4x100.

All four of our Relays ran Season Bests and we had many Season Bests in all of our events today.  We are in a very competitive conference and every team has solid performers.  It is not easy seeing our team at the bottom of the standings, but one cannot be upset or disappointed in how the Girls did as a team.

Next up is the Section 5AA Meet at Hamline University next Wednesday and Friday.

Thanks,
Denny

JV Conference Results

Results from yesterday's JV Conference Meet are now posted on the right side of the blog as are the overall results.

An overall great end to the season for the JV Girls with a handful gaining opportunities to compete at either next weeks Conference Meet or the Section 5AA Meet the following week.  The current results have the Girls finishing in 2nd out of the 8 teams that were there, but there was a mistake in the 100HH and the 400 that will drop us back to 3rd, but still a great overall performance considering we did not have individuals in a handful of events.

Leading the way for the JV were the 100m sprinters which took the top 3 spots, Jessica Dulong in 1st, Ruth Osayameh in 2nd, and Kelis Hammer in 3rd, all 4 hundredths of second apart!  Jessica was also 2nd in the 200m with Kelis in 4th, and Ruth anchored one of our 4x100m relay teams (included Julia Waite, Tulia Momo, Tami Tunmbi) which finished in 2nd.Other top 5 finishes went to Kennedy Martinson (2nd in 100HH, 1st 300IM, 2nd Pole Vault), Rachel Kalala (3rd 300IM), Nora Danek (4th 800m), Essence Rulford (1st Shot Put), and Sidney Deitz (3rd Shot Put)!

Great Job Ladies and keep putting in the work!!

The Conference Team will be posted at practice today and once the Heat Sheets are posted I will post all of that for everyone.  But the Conference Meet is a two day meet next week, with Prelims and a few Finals on Tuesday and Relay's and all other Finals on Thursday, all at Maple Grove High School.  If there are any questions, please let me know,

Thanks
Denny

Armstrong Tri Results

Our results for yesterday's Armstrong Tri with Blaine are now posted on the right side of the blog.  There were no overall meet results.

Positive steps were taken and improvement was shown in many different areas, despite not being used to the warmer temps and having to have their bodies adjust.  Some final decisions for the Conference Meet were made while others became more complicated and challenging for us as coaches, which is a good thing that happens when the girls challenge themselves and each other, and go after an opportunity that lies in front of them.  But there were many good performances and if the girls continue to work on their events and do what they can at the Conference Meet, they will give themselves a chance to do well.

Next up is the JV Conference Meet on Thursday at Elk River.   The meet will start at 3:45 and will be a full schedule of events with 6 teams participating.  After this meet, we as coaches will finalize who will be competing in next weeks Conference Meet.  One thing to note, if someone does not make the Conference roster, it does not mean they are done.  We usually do a bit of a different roster for the Section Meet. So, we have told the JV girls that if they are able to, we would like for them to keep practicing, one to improve, but two to possibly get a spot at Sections.

If there are any questions, let me know,
Thanks
Denny

Here are the directions:
Armstrong High School: 10635 36th Ave North, Plymouth, MN 55441. Go East on Hwy 10 to Hwy 610 West until you get to Hwy 169 South. Go South to 36th Ave North, and take a right.  School will be on the left about ½ mile from Hwy 169.

True Team Section Results

Results from last nights Section 4AAA True Team meet are now posted on the right side of the blog.  There is a mistake in the Girls Pole Vault and 4x400, but those have been changed and once they send us the new official results I will switch the results.

As a team, the Girls finished in 7th place out of 9 teams in a pretty tight meet.  Major points swings can happen in one race with everyone getting at least one point, so it is very easy to move up or down on a team if you are stronger than them in a particular event.  But, we put forth a solid effort and left few points out there.  We know we can do and get better, which is what our goals will be moving forward, but we also are not looking at yesterday as a negative in any way.  We were short individuals in a couple of events and put new members of the team into those events and they held their own and preformed admirably.  We are young and inexperienced and I honestly feel that we did better this year than we did a year ago, and we are looking at this as an opportunity to get experience for the younger Girls to build off of.  Great work ladies!

Next up is a JV meet at Andover on Thursday.  As of right now everything is planned as happening, but due to the weather, Andover has already discussed the option of cancelling.  If this is to happen, we will be notified on Thursday morning.

Lastly, team pictures will be on Friday.  The Girls will need to have their uniforms for the team picture.

Any questions, please let me know,
Thanks
Denny

Time Schedule

Here is a link to a rough estimate Time Schedule for Tuesday's True Team Meet.  If possible, they will move faster than what the schedule suggests.  But, this is to give you an idea of when each event will be, not an exact time.
Section 4AAA True Team Schedule
Any questions, let me know,
Thanks,
Denny

True Team Sections

The True Team Section meet at Elk River will be on Tueday.
There will be a spectator fee: $6.00 adults and $4.00 for students. Spectators
should enter between the tennis courts.

The meet will be starting at 3:45, with Boys Pole Vault starting at Noon.  With 9 teams, the meet will run longer, so getting home will probably be closer to 9:00, so long as there are no weather delays.
This meet is a little different than the others.  Every individual and relay will receive points, so long as they finish their race or get a qualifying height or distance.  With 9 teams and each team getting 3 individuals per event, first place will get 27 points, 27th place will get 1 point.  For relays first place will get 36 point (9 team x 4 individuals per team), 2nd place 32 on down to 4 points for 9th place. The team that has the most points at the end of the meet will qualify for the True Team State Meet. Individuals will not qualify for that State Meet.
The Girls will find out at practice on Monday if they will be competing or have practice.  There will be a couple of events that will be decided at practice itself due to injuries and open spots.  Any Girl that does not compete on Tuesday will be competing on Thursday at Andover.
If there are any questions, please let me know,
Thanks
Denny

Blaine Invite Results

Our Individual, as well as the Overall results, for last nights Blaine Invite are now posted on the right side of the Blog.

As a team the Girls finished in a solid 3rd place out of 5 teams.  There were many Girls that had season or all time personal bests and we are showing improvements in a lot of areas, but we still see areas we can improve on and need to be more consistent with.  But, with a still very young team, they are competing hard and fighting all the way to the finish in their events.

Congratulations to event winners Rachel Deters in Shot Put and Courtney Killian in Triple Jump.  2nd place finishes went to Grace Henneman in the 100 Hurdles, Abby Russ in the 300 Hurdles, Courtney Killian in the Long Jump, Dola Ademola-Green in the Shot Put, and the 4x100 team of Fayza Akeri, Abby Russ, Beni Kalala, and Mikayla de Souza.  Sarah Eichstadt was 3rd in the 1600m and Grace Henneman (300 Hurdles), Grace Kehr (Pole Vault), and Ellie Biggins (Shot Put) were all 4th place individual finishers.

Great work Ladies! Next up the True Team Section Meet on Tuesday at Elk River.

Thanks,
Denny

Blaine Invite Change

Due to the weather, today's Blaine Invite has been cancelled and rescheduled for Thursday of this week.  This will affect the JV meet on Thursday as well.  At this moment, we will not be able to have the JV meet, but if we can we will move it to a different day.

We will have practice at normal time today, but if there are any questions, please let me know,
Thanks

Blaine Invite

The following are the Heat Sheets for tomorrows Blaine Invite at Blaine High School.  Heat Sheets  This is an easy way to know what heat and lane your runner(s) is, or what flight they are for their field event.

One other thing of note, they changed the start time of the meet to 3:30 for field events and 3:45 for the running events, with the normal order of events set for this meet.

If there are any questions, please let me know,
Thanks,
Denny

Roseville Invite Results

Our individual results, as well as the overall results, are now posted on the right side of the blog.  We had a solid overall night with some very strong performances and improvements across the board going against some tough teams and individuals.  Top finishers went to Courtney Killian as she one the Long Jump; Rachel Deters (Shot Put), Grace Henneman (100m Hurdles), and the 4x100m Relay team of Fayza Akeri, Abby Russ, Anna Nummela, and Beni Kalala as they all finished in 2nd; and Abby Russ for finishing 4th in the 300 Hurdles.

As a team we finished in 5th out of 8 teams, 2 points out of 4th, but we looked at the number of season and all-time Personal Bests and the improvements from last week and we feel that we are moving in the right direction.

Next up is the Centennial 9/10 Meet tomorrow.  We are trying to get all of those that were not in the meet yesterday in, as well as a few from yesterday, but we are still limited on number of athletes we can use, which really only affects the sprinters.  Meet will start at 3:45 with the bus leaving at 2:40.

Thanks
Denny

Roseville Invite at East Ridge High School

Below is information for tomorrows Varsity meet at East Ridge High School.  This is considered the Roseville Invite and was supposed to be there, but due to construction it has been moved to East Ridge.  Please allow for extra time to get there.  General directions as well as a link with a map to East Ridge are below as well.

This will be a Normal Order of Events meet with the Running events starting at 4:00.  Pole Vault and High Jump will be starting at 3:30 with the other 4 Field Events starting at 3:45.  There is no time schedule for this meet, so it will be what they consider a Rolling Schedule, where they will go from one event to the next without be restricted to a certain time frame.  There will be 9 schools attending, but we are limited to 3 individuals per individual events and 1 relay team per relay events, so this will still run fairly quickly (well, for a track meet!! lol).

The Girls will be notified at practice today by their coaches on who will be competing and who will not.  Those that do not compete will have practice tomorrow and will be competing on Thursday at Centennial.

Any questions, please let me know,
Thanks
Denny

Anoka Tri Results

Results for last nights Anoka Tri with Elk River are now posted on the right side of the blog.  There were, however, not overall meet results, so we cannot say for certain where we would have placed as a team.

What we did see is improvements in many areas, meaning we were taking advantage of the great weather, but also showing that the work they were able to put in over the past week is helping them.  There are some areas that we are growing the depth of the team and being more competitive in than we have in the past, but we still have a lot of work we want to do to make sure we are able to put forth the best possible team by the end of the season.

We are having practice today despite the weather.  Chances are that we will be inside for the majority of our events, if not all of them.

Thanks
Denny

Tuesday at Anoka

Tomorrow's meet at Anoka is now a Triangular with Elk River coming down.  The track is on the north side of the High School, with the first race starting at 3:45.  The only change in the order of events is that the 3200m run will be at the same time as the 4X800 at the beginning of the meet.  At this moment, we will not have anyone in the 3200m.  But, what this allows is for the meet to be completed at a faster time.  All other events will go on as normally scheduled (there is no time schedule).
If there are any questions, please let me know,
Thanks
Denny

Sartell Results

Our individual, as well as the overall meet results, are now posted on the right side of the blog for last nights Sartell Invite that was at St John's University.  Click onto the name of the meet and then inside that page at the top will be the overall results.

Despite being short handed, we had a solid night, especially with the short sprints with the girls taking 7 of the top 12 spots (less than a half a second apart) in the 60m Dash, led by the 2nd place finish of Mikayla de Souza and 3rd place finish of Courtney Killian and 4 of the top 5 in the 200m Dash with Mikayla winning and Grace Kehr taking 2nd.

Other top finishes went to Courtney Killian winning both the Long and Triple Jumps, Rachel Deters taking 2nd in the Shot Put, and Grace Kehr and Ali Hedlund tieing for 2nd in the Pole Vault.

Great night of races, many improvements and steps taken.  Next up is a Tri on Tuesday at Anoka vs. Elk River.  More info to come on Monday.

Thanks
Denny

Sartell Indoors

Below is the team list of who is competing and in which events for tomorrow's Sartell Invite that is now at St John's University in their Indoor facility.  The bus will be leaving at 4:45 with the meet starting at about 7:00.  There will be 3 teams and a reduced number of events, so it should go fairly quick.
The easiest way to get to St John's would be to get onto I94 West and exit at Exit 156, CR 159 (Abbey Road/135th Ave) and take a left.  Follow Abbey Road onto campus and take a left at Prep School Road and the building will be on your right.
Any questions, please let me know,
Thanks

Centennial Quad Results

Results for last nights Cenntenial Quad against Blaine and Irondale are now posted on the right side of the blog.  All of our results will be posted there and at the top is a link to the overall meet results as well. (Grace Henneman is missing in the 300 Hurdles, and she would have been 3rd overall).

The Girls finished in 3rd out of 4 teams and had some solid performances in a close battle for 2nd. Courtney Killian led the way for the Girls winning both the Long and Triple Jumps.  Second place finishes went to the 4x800 team of Abby Ellenbecker, Olivia Ellenbecker, Maddie Keran and Ava Kehr; Grace Henneman in the 100 Hurdles, Sarah Eichstadt in the 1600, and Rachel Deters in the Shot Put.

There were a lot of solid performances considering it was most of their first meet and with the conditions being a little brisk at times.  There is still a lot of room for improvement and now that we have a meet under us and we have a better feeling for what we have, we can start working more on what we need help in as well as help those that are off to good starts improve and advance themselves.

Thanks!
Denny

Sartell Invite

Due to the weather the rest of this week, there has been a change in Friday's Sartell Invite.  The meet is now being schedule as an Indoor Meet and will be held at St John's University.  The meet will also start at 7:00pm.  With Prom on Saturday, we know that some of the athletes will not be able to make the meet, but we want for them to notify us so we do not schedule them for any events.

We will send out more information as we get closer to the meet,
Thanks
Denny

UW Stout Results

Our individual and the overall meet results for Saturday's UW Stout Indoor are now posted on the right side of the blog.  Use the link inside the results to pull up the overall results.

As an overall, it was a positive start for the season going against many Wisconsin teams that have been practicing longer and with many of them already having multiple meets.  18 teams gained points and with only the top 8 in each event gaining points, there were not many to be had.  However, the girls finished in 13th with Rachel Deters, 3rd in Shot Put, and Courtney Killian, 5th in Triple Jump gaining our points.

We are just over two weeks away from our first outdoor meet and our next opportunity to compete against other schools.  The weather is looking much more favorable to hold this meet, so we will be getting the girls ready to really get the season going.

Thanks for the support of those that made it out to the meet on Saturday!
