Start List

Below is a link to where you can find the start list for the Blaine Invite.  Some names could change, so this is not a final for us.

Thursday

The Andover JV Meet that was scheduled for Thursday has been cancelled.  Reason being, is since the Varsity Blaine Invite was moved to that date, and most of the teams in the Blaine meet were also in the Andover meet, it was not going to work.  Also, there was discussion to move the meet to Friday, in which the boys still might, but both Andover and Blaine girls have meets already on that date.  So, this meet will not be made up.  We will try to do something for the JV girls.
The Blaine Invite though is still on for Thursday.  The Field events will be starting at 3:30 and the running events at 3:45.  There will be heat sheets available online prior to the meet, so as soon as those are posted, I will post them on here.
Any questions, please let me know,
Thanks
Denny

Blaine Invite

Just got word that the Blaine Invite for Tuesday has been postponed to Thursday, with the start time now moving to 3:30.  This will change a few things, especially since the JV athletes are to be at Andover on the same day.  The other coaches and I will discuss what our options will be and how we want to go about this, and I will let you know what we decide to do.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thanks
Denny

Centennial 9/10

Results for our team are now posted.  There were overall meet results, with the team finishing 6th out of 8 teams.  I will try to find a way to get the overall results posted, but you will not be able to find them online.
There will not be anyone from our team competing in tonight's Hamline Elite Meet.  This is not a bad thing, because it gives us an opportunity to get some good work in, especially since we had snow on the track at this time last week, and it was raining on Wednesday.
Next up will be the Blaine Invite on Tuesday.  This will be a Varsity only meet, so we will be limited on our numbers.  Those that do not compete on Tuesday will be in the JV meet on Thursday, which is at Andover.
Any questions, please let me know,
Thanks
Denny

Fan Shirts

The Fan Shirts are in and are organized.  Those that are going to the track meet will get theirs when we get back from the meet tonight.  All others will be given out at practice on Friday.
Thanks
Denny

Centennial 9/10

Just go word that the meet for today is going to happen, despite the current weather and predicted weather.  The Pole Vault will not happen though, so if your athlete was planning on that event, they will not be there.
If anything changes in the next couple of hours, I will let you know,
Thanks
Denny

Champlin/Centennial

Our results for the Champlin Park Dual are now posted.  I don't believe there was any overall results, but if by chance they did keep track of those and I get them, I will get them out as well.  But, it was a solid performance for the girls that were at the meet.  Many improvements, even from those who competed on Monday as well.  Still many things to work on though, but it was nice to get a more relaxing meet in as we start to get closer to the bigger meets.
As of right now, the Centennial 9/10 Meet is still on and the weather is starting to look more promising Thursday afternoon.  But, if there are any changes, I will let you know.  The meet will start at 3:45 and it will be a normal schedule with all events being held.  We are limited to 5 athletes per open event and up to 3 relay teams per relay event, so we will be getting a lot of athletes in.  We will be letting the girls know at practice today if they are competing tomorrow and in which events.
Any questions, please let me know,
Thanks
Denny

Shakopee Invite Results

Meet results from last nights Shakopee Invite can be found on Wayzata Results, but I have added a link below.  They were missing one of our 300m Hurdlers, so results will change compared to what is posted at this moment.
http://wayzatatiming.com/track/2014/ShakopeeRelays/Results.htm
Tough wind to deal with and some of the best Girls Teams in the State as well. We held our own in many areas and showed some improvements in others, but it lets us know how much further we have to go if we want to become one of the better teams in the State again.
Tuesday's meet at Champlin Park is to start at 3:45 and will be a normal schedule of events, minus the 3200m run, which will not be run at this meet.  Also, not all of our athletes will be there.  Some that competed yesterday are staying back and getting a workout in.  Any questions, please let me know.
Thanks
Denny

Week Ahead

Monday is the rescheduled day for the Shakopee Invite.  All of those that are going need to be at the school by 1:45, so the bus can leave by 2:00.  For those not going, sprinters and pole vaulters, there will be practice at the track at 12:00pm.
Tuesday's meet is still going to happen.  It will be a Varsity/JV Meet, in which we will probably run more JV runners, but it will depend on each individual coach as far as much the Varsity runners will do.  The bus will leave at 2:45, and the meet will start at 3:45 at Champlin Park High School.
Thursday will be a 9/10th grade meet, but we will try to get as many of the JV runners and athletes in so we can continue to get them time to compete.  This meet will be at Centennial and will start at 3:45.
Friday as the Hamline Elite Meet which is something that we will enter athletes, but we will not know who, if any, will be participating in.  It is a Varsity meet, but you have to technically qualify, or be in the top so many times, heights, distance of those that enter athletes.  We will know by Wednesday who is in.
I am hoping that the Fan Shirts will be in this week, so we will hopefully get those out to everyone soon.
Thank you to athletes and parents that were able to help on Saturday with the Basketball Tourney. Word is that it was a positive fundraiser and we will hopefully be able to replace out aging hurdles.
If there are any questions, please let me know,
Thanks,
Denny

Shakopee on Monday

So we will be going to the Shakopee Invite on Monday, April 21 with the same start time of 3:30 and the same schedule of events.  The bus will leave at 2:00 on Monday.  The weather looks like it will be much more favorable, close to 70 possibly, so this should work out fine.  I will check with all of the girls today that were supposed to go to Shakopee to see if they can on Monday as well, and if need be, we will make changes.  I will let them all know today if they are competing on Monday or not.  We will still be going to the Champlin Park meet on Tuesday the 22nd, but we may not run all of our Varsity girls, or in their normal events.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thanks
Denny

Thursday's Meet Postponed

Just got an email from Shakopee and the meet for today has been postponed.  They have rescheduled the meet to Monday, April 21st.  I am currently in touch with our other coaches trying to figure everything out and if we go or not.  As soon as we make a decision, which will hopefully be soon, I will let you know.
We are still practicing today after school.
Thanks
Denny

Update

As of right now, the Shakopee Invite is still currently going to happen this afternoon.  The weather in that area of the Twin Cities was not nearly as fun as it was here, but if I do hear different, I will let you know.
For those that are not going to the meet today, there still is practice today after school.  Also, there will be practice for the sprinters and distance runners on Friday at 10:30 at the track.  The pole vaulters and the throwers will need to talk to their coaches about what time they will be practicing.
As for Monday, once I talk to the other coaches, I will let you all know what time practice(s) will be and if there will be a location change.
If you have any questions, please let me know,
Thanks
Denny

Elk River Meet Results

So I was able to find a way to get the whole meet results onto one of the pages in our Results.  Not the easiest way to see them, but they were not online, so couldn't just set up a link.  I will keep working on this though and when I figure it, I hope it will make it easier.
Thanks
Denny

Elk River Results/Shakopee Schedule

Results for the Elk River Tri are now posted.  It was a cold day, so times, heights, and distances sort of reflected that.  Many positives out of it, and hopefully we will be in some warmer weather soon.  There were overall meet results as well, but I am still trying to find a way to get them out to all of you.

Below is the time schedule for tomorrow's Shakopee Invite.  This is more of a relay meet, so not much for individual events, except for field events, which are the normal 6.  The girls will know what events, or if they are going, at practice today.  Those that are not going, will still have practice on Thursday. Along with that, the distance and sprinters will be having practice on Friday at 10:30 on the track.  Throwers and Pole Vaulters will need to talk to their event coaches to find out when practice will be.  There will also be practice on Monday, but we will let you know more about that in the upcoming days.

Week Ahead

This is just a quick update on a few things.

I have now included the meet schedule on our blog page.  That can now be found on the right hand side above the results.

We have two meets this week.  Tuesday's is for everyone and will be the normal schedule of events, except that there will not be a 4x800m relay.  So the first event will be the 100H Hurdles.  Thursday's meet is for Varsity, but we will be taking a lot of JV.  There is a JV race for the mile, so all distance runners are going.  The throwers will have a JV shot and disc, so all the throwers will be going.  And there is a JV 4x400m relays, so any of the sprinters that would like to run a 400 will be able to go.  The schedule will be a lot different, so I will send that out later this week.

We will be having practice this upcoming Friday and next Monday, even though there is not school.  Friday will be in the morning, and chances are Monday's will be in the afternoon.  These are regular practices, so the athletes need to be at them.  It is possible that the throwers and pole vaulters will be at different times, depending on their coaches schedule.

Lastly, on Saturday, April 19, the Boys and Girls Track teams will be helping run a basketball tourney at the high school.  We will be needing volunteers, both athletes and parents and we have broken it up into 3 different times: 8am-12pm, 12pm-4pm, 4pm to close.  If you are able to help with this, please let me know.  Any questions, also please let me know.

Thanks,

Denny Green
