Section Results

Congratulations to Kennedy Martinson as she won the 100 High Hurdles at yesterday's Section 5AA meet, qualifying for next Saturday's State Meet by running a school record time of 14.59!!

Kennedy will be our only representative at the State Meet, but it was an overall positive day with many personal bests and placings above where we were seeded going into the meet.  Kennedy also was a podium finisher in the 300 Hurdles finishing in 3rd, just missing qualifying in this event as well.  Grace Kehr moved up to take 4th in Pole Vault in an all-time PR of 10'6".  Mikayla de Souza moved up in the 100m dash to finish as the 5th fastest girl in the Section, as well as finish in a season PR in the 200m dash to finish in 8th.  Alsita Suah improved by over a foot in the Triple Jump to move into 9th place overall, as the 4x800m relay team of Ava Kehr, Zoe Hoaglund, Stella Bone, and Ilsa Hoaglund fought hard to finish in 8th and the 4x200m team of Rory Ruotsinoja, Alsita Suah, Belinda Griffith, and Mikayla de Souza ran a season best time to finish in 9th overall.  All results can be found at Wayzataresults.com.

Great work to all of the Girls as they all fought hard to finish off the season on a positive note!!

To help end the season, we will be collecting uniforms tomorrow, Monday, June 14th at 10:00am at the Pole Vault area.  We will also collect any exercise bands that are still out, as well as hand out Letter and Participation awards, as well as the All-Conference and Honorable Mention Awards.  If someone is not able to be there tomorrow to hand in their uniforms, please bring them to the main office when you have the opportunity.

Thanks to everyone for all of their work and support this year.  It has been a different season, and things could have been different in many different ways, but we did what we could with the opportunities and athletes we got to work with and there were so many positives that are going to help us build for the seasons to come!  It was fun, but hopefully it will be more fun in the upcoming years!!

Thanks,
Denny
